"Invitation to the Feast" Mike Riddell
Come, all you who thirst,
all you who hunger for the bread of life,
all you whose souls cry out for healing;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you who are weary,
all you who are bowed down with worry,
all you who ache with the tiredness of living;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you poor,
all you who are without food or refuge,
all you who go hungry in a fat land;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you who are bitter,
all you whose hopes have tarnished into cynicism,
all you who feel betrayed and cannot forgive;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you who grieve,
all you who suffer loss as a fresh knife wound,
all you who curse the God you love;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you who are sinners,
all you who have sold the gift that is within you,
all you who toss uneasily in your bed at night;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you who are oppressed,
all you who have forgotten the meaning of freedom,
all you who cry out to the very heart of God;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you who are traitors,
all you who use your wealth and power to crucify God,
all you who cannot help yourselves;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you who are sick,
all you whose bodies or minds have failed you,
all you who long above all for healing;
Come, come to the feast of life.
Come, all you who are lost,
all you who search for meaning but cannot find it,
all you who have no place of belonging;
Come, come to the feast of life.
The table of Jesus is your place of gathering
here you are welcomed, wanted, loved,
here there is a place set for you;
Come, come to the feast of life.

SERVICES
AT EMMANUELWe believe in worship that is reverent, is fun, is real, is authentically human. We believe in celebrating. We believe worship gives us roots. We believe the most important elements in worship are the presence of God's Spirit and hearts that are lifted up to him. It's the heart, not the outward show, that interests our Father.
SUNDAYS AT EMMANUEL
Each week we have a simple, more traditional communion service at 9am. On the first Sunday of the month this is from the Book of Common Prayer.
Every Sunday we have refreshments in our hall at 10am - this is a great time to catch up with everyone! Want to be on the rota?
Every Sunday at 10.30 we have a service which includes singing led by our worship team, teaching, testimony, and ministry. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month.
We welcome all baptised Christians, adults or children, weak, or strong, to take part in communion.
We have Treasure Seekers (5-11s) and creche (0-4) on Sunday mornings during the 10.30 service.
SPECIAL JOINT 10 O'CLOCK SERVICES
Every now and then we join together with other churches in the town to worship.
Please check our newsletter for details.
In addition, we sometimes have evening celebrations, Songs of Praise, and join in with local worship events, such as Tees Valley Christian Alliance celebrations.
Once or twice a term we have "Creative/Messy Church" for adults and children together! We eat a meal and have fun doing activities which lead us into a time of worship.
MIDWEEK
We have Night Prayer on a Monday evening at 9.
There is a simple communion service on Tuesdays at 9.30am.
Every weekday there is Morning Prayer (9-9.30).
IN ADDITION, WE PUT A LOT OF ENERGY INTO CREATING CELEBRATIONS AS A CHURCH FAMILY TOGETHER
WORSHIP
Our vision says of our hopes for worship at Emmanuel:
The inside of the building is warm, friendly and welcoming in its atmosphere. There is no “threshold problem”, outside or in. It has the flexibility to be conducive to all types of worship and other events. Worship energises us for God’s mission.
The music encompasses many traditions, styles and aspects of God. Worship leaders are regularly trained and supported. It is a “warehouse of creativity”.
There is worship that is accessible for the “uninitiated”.
Everyone is encouraged to discover and use the talents they have been given, and creativity flows as these talents are put to use in worship in artistic and musical ways.
Worship and justice have joined hands at Emmanuel and through our worship we seek to improve the quality of life for people around the world. Social awareness is integrated with worship.
The church is often open for prayer, comfort and advice.
